Never discuss poker

Posted by nofullstop ADD COMMENTS

I am not sure if this is just me or it is actually the habit of poker players that they just love discussing everything related to their poker life style with others. I haven’t seen a football addict discuss football as much as I find a poker player discuss poker. What a poker player might not understand is the fact that your out-of-topic sentences are good enough for others on the table to understand your state of mind. Though most of the times you might not give away much but one must at least have an idea of what to speak out and the best time for that.

With experience you will understand that discussing nonsense won’t help you distract other’s brains but will surely help others guess that you aren’t as smart as you present yourself to be. It is suggested that you keep your poker lingo to yourself while you are in between a game. This will surely help you concentrate and understand the game better. Never speak up how distressed or confused you are!

Lastly, one can gain a bit of sympathy (and help) from rest of the players on the table by actually presenting himself as a fresh poker player. Talk about pokerĀ veteransĀ and how you want to be like them. This is enough for others to understand how new you are with poker. May be they might end up helping you out if you help them remember their days of infancy with poker.
