Well, you kidding me? France is out and so are the hosts. Greece messed up just like their economy and even Germany had lost to Serbia. Switzerland had kicked Spain and England failed to match up with Algeria. How on earth can anyone even think about predicting results with so much already happening in the FIFA World Cup 2010? One can! You got to be a bit more smarter than what you already are. Already, things have become a lot more easier for you with France out of the tournament.
I will be mean if I end up ignoring Brazil as the world cup winners. The name Brazil is almost always synonymous with “World Cup Winners”. Though they were into one of the most competitive groups with African Favs ‘Ivory Coast’ and Portuguese eying them but they have come out good as of now. No signs of desperations as it had happened in last world cup. They are surely up for it and giving their best.
Next comes Argentina with their coach Maradona standing on the edge of the field throughout all the matches that Argentina has played till now. Not sure about the entertainment that Messy has failed to provide up till now but Maradona has surely been one helluva entertainer since the world cup has started. Argentina can surely add up to this entertainment quotient by bringing home the cup.
England? Though they are full of stars like John Terry, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard and Wayne Rooney yet they are pretty famous for saying good bye to all the chances they have been gifted with to excel in various tournaments with the fresh one being Euro 2008. With a history of not utilizing their potential to their best since years England has one more chance in their hands and the only odd against them (as usual) is their history.
G for Giant and G for Germany. I agree that this sounds kiddish but they are worth it. Though they haven’t done it in last 20 years but they have been favorites throughout. And, once again they are favs but surely they got to be a lot more disciplined to avoid mess ups like the one with Serbia.
Lastly, I am not forgetting Spain. With stars like Fernando Torres and David Villa helping them win Euro 2008 Spain is one strong team that we cannot ignore.
