Strategy is a very important thing in poker. It gives you direction to know what to do when you’re playing against your opponent.

Why do Poker Players need Strategies?

Strategy is a must because playing poker without strategy means that you are going to go down and you are going to loose because you have no direction to use, you don’t have a game plan to follow on. Most players easily recognize the one who plays without a strategy so they take advantage of him and take him down.

So How Can I Create My Own Strategy:

You can create your own strategy by playing poker as simple as that all you have to do is continue practicing poker and once you play poker on a regular basis your strategy will start developing on your mind and you will have your own unique strategy that you will use in every poker game you play!

Does My Strategy Change After Awhile?

Your Strategy in the poker game may change as the time passes and as you play more games you will learn from your mistakes and your strategies will update and you will be a better player. That’s why having a strategy in poker is so important.

Poker Best Strategies or Play Styles:

Here I will show you some of the play styles and poker strategies that are used by the top poker players:

Aggressive/Passive play:

Refers to a player’s leaning to unlock, increase and decrease. Passive play refers to the player’s tendency to test out or call rather than raise. Except passive play is being used dishonestly as mentioned above, aggressive play is commonly measured stronger than passive play because of the bluff rate of bets and raises and because it offers additional opportunities for your opponents to make mistakes.

Loose/Tight Play:

• Loose and tight in poker refer to a player’s common propensity to play hands beyond the beginning of the first round or to fold them speedily. There is no commonly-accepted threshold in terms of value or percentage of hands that are played, but a “tight” player will often choose to fold weaker opening hands or hands that are not “made” quickly, while a “loose” player will bet on further of these hands and therefore play extra hands to the fight.

Bluffing Play:

Bluff is to bet or raise with an mediocre hand. This play style can be very useful as it can cause other players to suppose the bluffing player has a leading hand, as a result that they all fold; the bluffing player then wins the pot.

So remember using a strategy in your poker game is a must for every poker player so read and learn more about poker and practice on a regular basis to develop your own playing strategy.

Playing blackjack can be both fun and depressing, as we get stuck as to what to do in each situation. It may seem hard but at the end of the day, it is actually rather simple. This is what to do when each sticky situation arises, with some tips as well.

Double Down – Can be a rather risky move to put into place but can also be very, very rewarding. Here is what to do on each situation:

If you have 10, double down it. The only exception to this is when the dealer has 11/ace up there. If you have 11, double down on it unless the dealer again has an ace up. And finally, always double down on 9 with the exception to this being if the dealer has a 7 or higher up. If the situation you were looking for isn’t exactly here, take a look at the hit/stand advice.

Hit / Stand – Hitting and standing compromises of both the cautious way and a risky way. But it can be very beneficial and a good way to flaw the dealers bluff. So, this is what should be done-

When the dealer has at least 7 or higher, keep hitting until you have at least 17. Also, hit until you have at the very least 12, when the dealer has a 6 or less showing. Lastly, if the dealer has a 2 or 3 showing, hit a 12. Then, you can stand, as both hitting and standing have near to same risks.

Split – Splitting in blackjack isn’t too widely used but can be very useful when used. For splitting, what should be done is -

On aces and 8s, remember to always split. This is highly beneficial. Also, remember to never split 10s, 5s or 4s as it can create nothing but trouble. If the dealer has 6 or less, split 6s, if the dealer has 7s or less, split 7s, 3s and 2s, if the dealer has 9 or less, split 9s. If the situation is not in the split section, check the double down section.

Finally, one serious but helpful piece of advice that many people are to wary to give, tipping the dealer can do no harm. They do not exactly get paid what Bill Gates earns, so a little extra help is easily workable as they too also depend on what you give out of generosity.

Many of us have decided to try poker, wondering on how it would be and such, only to find that the masters of the game make you look even worse than new starters. We wish we were like them, controlling the game with ease. When actually, it is simple to be like them, if not even beat them at their own game. This article presumes you have some knowledge of the basics of playing poker, if not feel free to take a quick moment to read up on the absolute basics. So here are 6 great tips to help you become the poker elite:

1. Losing is as important as Winning

Playing poker is not just about winning as much as you can; it’s also about reducing losses. This is why you have to make sure that as soon as it becomes clear that your hand is poor, fold. Reduce your losses and come back again.

2. Reading The Hand

A great tool to use whilst playing poker is your eyes. Look and examine each person. By this, look at the way each person holds their cards. A strong, non moving hand shows relaxation, where as shaking hands shows anxiety, in which the person is probably excited to play their hand, showing a strong hand.

3. Patterns to Betting

Another great way to make use of your eyes is to study how a person makes bets, for example, a player who has been re-raised, folding, showing being afraid to lose.

4. Control the Bluff

A key element to poker is bluffing. In this, each player reads others emotions and expressions. So something that will definitely give you the upper hand is controlling your own emotions. Avoid expressions that seem too extraordinary, such as smiling whilst looking at your own cards. Act normal, play your bluff acting normal as well.

5. Spotting Others

Always watch other players, in particular, when it is their turn. Try to read their habits, and separate the stronger players from the weaker ones, setting your targets. Look also at expressions and emotions, to try and work out which player is likely to be bluffing.

6. Motivation

Whilst playing poker, it can be easy to go off what you’re doing and why you’re doing it. But always remember, you’re here to win. Try not to remember what is on stake, but if that helps motivate you, by all means use it. Motivation is key.

While this may not take you straight up there, you can certainly be sure to play your next game with confidence.
